Staff will present information on each of the topics during the meeting. Background/Discussion Staff has included a number of recommended changes to the city code, and is seeking Council direction on where changes can or should be made, and what form these changes should take. These recommendations stem from recurring staff-identified issues, code complaints, and common resident requests. Some of these amendments will require a fair amount of staff time to complete, and will occur over the coming months. ■ Kennels/Nuisance Animals o Private versus commercial and number of allowed animals? o Ordinance does not regulate all domestic animals. o What are domestic animals? ■ Chickens o Expand where they are allowed? o Staff has received requests to allow chickens in the USD. ■ Definitions o Establish definitions for permitted, accessory, and conditional uses. ■ Principal and Accessory Structures o Staff seeks to establish standardized tables in order to provide consistency throughout the ordinance. ■ Dump sters/PODS/Landscape Materials in Streets o Should they be allowed by permit? ■ Deck Variances Related to Wetlands o Modify the wetland ordinance from property platted prior to 2006 ■ Vehicle Signs o Where can company vehicles be parked during non-business hours for the sole purpose of advertising? ■ Pennants/Festoons o Allow on a permanent basis?
