Approve,by motion, change order requests for the construction of the Rivers Edge Commons Park
Expansion.
Background/Discussion
After Sunram Construction conducted demolition of the old alleyway to the lower parking lot,it was
discovered that due to the number of utilities below the alley the proposed stormwater plan needed to be
modified.
The proposed design included new stormwater services in the alleyway and connecting into the existing
stormwater infrastructure. Due to the utilities,it was determined that this design could not be conducted
without substancial relocation of the existing utilities.
HKGi and Sunram proposed and alternate design redirecting the stormwater through the upper parking
lot. Additionally,it was determined that the existing manhole and sump was undersized and highly
degraded and required replacement in order to adequately meet the expected discharge of water from the
alley and upper parking lot. This redesign included additional pipe,upgrading the existing manhole to a
60 inch sump and adding a skimmer device.
The change order amount will be $13,315.00 that will be paid for from contingency and the stormwater
fund.
Financial Impact
There is no impact to the city General Fund.
