If appointed, Mr. Rydberg’s term would begin immediately and expire February 28, 2018. Background/Discussion There is a vacancy on the Planning Commission created by Andrew Crook’s resignation. The vacancy has been advertised per the Board and Commission Policy. Staff received one application from Robert Rydberg. Mr. Rydberg will attend the meeting. The planning commission is a key component of maintaining an orderly growth process. This board is where compromises, enforcement, and resolving development issues starts and continues. I would like to be a part of that process and bring some new perspectives to this important function. Alexandria Airports Commission 4 years. Boy Scouts of America -various positions- 40 yrs. Budget Analyst -City of Kansas City. Sr Planner/Grants Admin - KCArea Transp Auth. Asst GM -Greater Peoria MTD. BA Park University -Political Sci: Public Adm & CJ Admin. Texas A&M -Masters -Urban & Regional Planning (Transportation and Health Systems) Many years of business to business and business to customer experience. Attendance: Are your aware of the importance of regular meeting attendance including the time commitment involved in epaxin for meetings, and do you feel you have the time available to be an active participant? es No Comments: I work in Elk River and live in Elk Rlver and I understand the prep that goes into boards and commissions since I have served as staff that prepared information for boards and commissions. I was also the Business Manager for the Greater Peoria Airports Commission and was involved in purchasing land for noise mitigation and working directly for the Exec and the Board. Conflict of Interest is defined as the participation in any activity, recommended action, or decision from which the individual has or could have the potential to receive personal gain, whether it be direct or indirect.
