Discuss Kleiver Lake Fields parking concerns.
Background/Discussion
Concern has been raised regarding parking issues at Kliever Lake Fields. Currently there is no parking lot
at Kliever Lake Fields. Park users must utilize street parking to access the park.
Kleiver Lake Fields is located at 17950 Johnson Street and includes 7.96 acres of park land that is utilized
by the Parks and Recreation Department for recreation programming,primarily in the summer months.
Following is a summary of 2016 summer programs held at Kliever Lake Fields:
• Youth Soccer League Mondays, 6:00—8:30 pm 7 weeks 40-60 participants
• Youth Lacrosse League Wednesdays, 6:00-8:00 pm 7 weeks 40-60 participants
• Youth Park Races Thursday, 6:00-8:00 pm One time 100-120 participants
• Youth Flag Football League Sundays,4:00—7:00 pm 7 weeks 40-60 participants
(Usually held a Kuss field. Was moved due to field conditions at Kuss.)
Kliever Lake Fields has also been utilized in the past by Youth Athletic Associations on nights when
Parks and Recreation programs are not being held. Kliever Lake Fields was not needed this previous
summer by associations.
In regards to the Parks and Recreation programs,no concerns have been received by staff regarding
parking by those user groups.

meeting at 6:30 p.m.,Wednesday,November 9 at the Elk River City Hall located at 13065 Orono
Parkway.
