VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTION
Park Ranger
Purpose/Objective
Supervise usage at various park locations to ensure safety and an enjoyable experience for park
users.
Department/Division
Parks and Recreation
Location of Volunteer Position
Throughout the City Park System. Elk River currently has 45 Parks in the system.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide information regarding park services to patrons
• Report inappropriate behaviors and park maintenance needs to staff
• Demonstrate positive customer service to patrons
Requirements/Qualifications
Able to lift light supplies and walk through park system. Positive customer service skills.
Time Commitment
5-10 hours per week depending on the season. Greater needs in summer months.
Training/Support Provided
Uniforms, communication equipment, training on operational procedures.
Benefits to Volunteers
Opportunity to contribute to maintaining a quality park system for Elk River residents.
