Background/Discussion
On Monday, November 7, 2016, Council met with City Administrator Cal Portner to discuss his
performance, review the goals that were established for him, along with creating new goals for 2017.

Summarizing the City Administrator's Performance Review
Pursuant to the State's Open Meeting Law, Minn. Stat. §13D.05, subd. 3, the
Council conducted a closed special meeting on Monday, November 7, 2016, to
evaluate the performance of City Administrator Calvin Portner.
Mayor Dietz and Councilmembers Olsen, Westgaard, Burandt, and Wagner
were in attendance.
The law requires that, at its next open meeting, Council shall summarize its
conclusions regarding the evaluation.
City Administrator Portner's review comprised discussion of his employment
with the city and focused on what issues were faced by the city, Council, and
Administrator over the evaluation period and what progress was made toward
achieving previously established goals.
The Council concluded that in all categories, Cal has met or exceeded
expectations. The Council is extremely happy with his performance since his
last review.
