Equipment Purchases
The 2000 budget has identified $2,650.00 for the purchase of a landscape
planer which is a leveling attachment for the 3 point hitch on one of our
tractors. We have not been able to fmd the manufacturer or dealer for the
combo planer which is our unit of choice.

Attached is the information on the Harley rake that is a more versatile
leveler which costs about $6,600.
Another need that we are realizing is for computers. Our long range goal is
to network with each other as well as with City Hall. Scott Allen has
advised us that our present computers are of a home/office level and need to
be updated if we are to reach the goal of a network attachment with City
Hall. We will eventually need a total of 4 computers at about $1,500.00
each, a printer at about $500.00 and a scanner at $200.00, but I am
suggesting that we purchase 2 computers, printer, and scanner now and
purchase the other 2 computers at a later date, when other funds might be
available.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends City Council's approval of the purchase of the Harley
rake for $6,600 and the computer equipment totaling $3,700.00 with funds
coming from the 2000 general fund Street Department budget.
