SUBJECT: Hiring Full Time Maintenance I Worker for Street/Park
Department
We advertised for two weeks in the Star News for a full time Maintenance I
worker at a starting salary of $12.08 per hour and received twelve
applications.
Staff interviewed six candidates and unanimously recommended Steve
Stoffers for the position. Steve brings many years of truck driving experience
to us as well as a well-rounded equipment background.
Contingent upon a successful drug test and drivers examination, I would
recommend that the City Council hire Steve Stoffers at $12.44 per hour with
a July step increase to Step B of Pay Grade 8, following successful completion
of the six month probation. There will be no cost of living increase on January
1 for this position.
