• Discuss the appointment of Guenther Sagan to the Ice Arena Commission
• Recommend,by motion,a Commission member to the Ice Arena Commission.
Background/Discussion
The Parks and Recreation Commission recommended at the November 9 meeting two representatives,
Guenther Sagan and Mark Ahlness, for the Arena Commission. According to city code, the
Commission is not able to appoint two members for one seat. It needs to be one representative of the
Parks and Recreation Commission. I have spoken with both Mark and Guenther regarding this issue and
found that Guenther is fine with this appointment. Therefore, I am recommending Guenther Sagan as
the Parks and Recreation Commission representative for the Arena Commission.
The Arena Commission only has two regulars meetings and usually 1-2 special meetings per year. City
Council will need to approve the Commission member recommended.
