Analvsis One Planning Commissioner, John Morphew, resigned in 2000. As Louise Kuester was elected to the Council, she will submit her resignation effective December 31, 2000. Commissioner Morphew's term will expire February 28, 2001, and Commissioner Kuester's term will expire February 28, 2002. . Four applications were received (attached). NW ELK RIVER, MN 55330 STATEMENT OF INTEREST I believe Elk River is in the "path of progress". The commuter line, growth of the Twin Cities in the northwesterly direction, a healthy economy and low unemployment, etc. are all presenting opportunities for growth as well as challenges to manage change for the benefit of the community. I would like to participate in this process and feel that involvement through the Planning Commission would be an excellent way to do so. EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE My background includes a BS degree in finance from Purdue University and 30 years experience in business. I have been a financial analyst, administrative manager, controller and facility manager and have worked for both large and small companies, including two start up businesses in northern California. Currently, I am the Accounting Manager for Remmele Engineering, Inc.'s Micro Machining Division in Big Lake. . I have had experience developing and presenting capital plans and proposals for a variety of projects. I have also been responsible for developing business plans and operating budgets for many different types of businesses. I feel this experience, as well as general management / organizational skills, would enable me to contribute to the success of the commission. .
