Reconsider Water Tower Site - East Elk
River
On Tuesday, November 21,2000, staff received via fax the attached letter from D. R.
Horton, Inc. objecting to the placement of the water tower in Trott Brook Farm Park.
From the time stamp, it arrived after hours.
Don Patton, representing D. R. Horton, has requested an opportunity to address the
Council personally regarding this issue. He will be in attendance at Monday's meeting.

Thank you for providing us the inform tion regarding the site for the future water tower
in the Trott Brook area.

When we first received approvals frOl the City for this subdivision, no mentioned of a
water tower being constructed within e subdivision was raised. To date we have not
informed any of our buyers or potentia buyer of the possibility of a water tower being
located within the development. The c nstruction of a tower within the development
could lead to a serious disclosure probl m with our buyers.
At the current proposed park location, e tower will be located in a area where we had
plan to build upscale single family hou es. The tower we believe will be a detriment to
the homes that would be built within th 5 area. We will probably have to rethink the type
of houses that we had planned to build n this area if the tower is located in the park.
These home would probably be ofless alued t:han was originally planned for the
development.
D.R. Horton would request that the to r be located in a location other than the tw'o
locations shown on your report within t e Trott Brook Development area.
