6.1c ERMUSR 01-10-2017 Elk River Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING TO: FROM: Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission Mark Fuchs—Electric Superintendent John Dietz—Chair Al Nadeau—Vice Chair Daryl Thompson—Trustee MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: January 10, 2017 6.1c SUBJECT: Staff Update DISCUSSION: • Had four new services. • Continue working on collecting data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time permits. • Continue the tear down of the old infrastructure in River Ranch development. • Finished feeder 42 line extension. • Finished making up the underground infrastructure on Quantrelle Avenue in Otsego. This is to feed the Nystrom building. We also hooked up the temporary service for the building. • Presidential Estates rebuild is on hold until spring when the frost comes out. • Finished replacing some LED light fixtures on Jackson Avenue and School Street. We are going to be changing out the lights on Twin Lakes Road to LED next. • Changed out fourteen lights to LED for the City on the walk bridge over Hwy 169 by the Freeport water tower. • A vehicle went off the road on County Road 39 and hit a single phase pole in Otsego. We were able to temporary it and replace the pole the following day. • Had to replace a street light pole on Vance Circle that was struck by a vehicle. • Started tree trimming. • Started rebuilding 165th Ave;this is in Area 2 that we recently acquired from Connexus. • Completed inventory count and are now working with the office to ensure the accuracy. • Scott Thoreson, Darren Weber and Jared Rolstad attended the MMUA Transformer School December 13-16 in Marshall, MN. • Tom Geiser and I attended the Technical & Operations Conference that Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA)held in St. Cloud, MN. They had some very good speakers. A few of the sessions I attended were: Quality Leadership, Creating an Empowerment Culture, Advancing the Safety Culture, Reliability Best Practices, Cold Weather Rule, Cyber Security, and an MMUA update.
