Adopt,by motion, a resolution acknowledging contributions to the Police Department from various
groups and organizations.
Background/Discussion
From July 1, 2016, through December 31, 2016, the Police Department received donations from groups
and organizations. The intent of the donations is listed on the attached spreadsheet labeled Exhibit A.
Pursuant to Minnesota Statute 465.03, donations and contributions shall be approved for acceptance and
resolutions are required to be adopted by a 2/3 majority vote.
Financial Impact
The City of Elk River has also received various Night to Unite donations and$5,000 cash for various
reasons specified listed on the attached Exhibit A.

Resolution 17-
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River Acknowledging
Contributions
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received donations in the year 2016 (July through
December) from various individuals and organizations, as itemized on Exhibit A, attached
hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council,by at a least four-fifths
vote, to acknowledge the support and commend the individuals and organizations listed on
Exhibit A for their donations.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember
, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof-
