SUBJECT: Out of State Conferences
I would like to request council approval to attend two out of state
conferences. The first conference is February 22nd and 23rd at the University
of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. This conference has an intensive two
day training period on asphalt pavement management and repair. I would
be driving a city vehicle so the expenses would include food, lodging, fuel,
and conference registration. The 1999 budget has funds for this type of
schooling.

The second conference is the Con-Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada during the last
week of March. There are training seminars throughout the week on all
phases of construction, plus a very large construction equipment display. I
would like to participate for three days of the seven day conference.
Each year the street department budget has funds allocated for an out of
state conference and this is my first request since 1985 when I attended a
snowplowing conference in Madison, Wisconsin.
Action Reauested
· Approval of attendance at University of Wisconsin 2 day training
semInar.
. Approval of 3 day attendance of the Con-Expo Conference and equipment
show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
