SUBJECT: Consider Request for Finance Director
to Attend National Conference
.
The 1999 General Fund budget includes funds for department heads to
attend a national conference relevant to their department. The Government
Finance Officers national conference offers an opportunity to get updated on
local and national finance issues and offers educational sessions on
numerous topics. Briefly, those include changes in financial reporting and
related requirements, innovations in government finance, cash management
and treasury functions, economic development finance, and many others.
Action Reauested
The Council is asked to authorize the Finance Director's attendance at the
1999 national conference of the Government Finance Officers Association of
the United States and Canada to be held in Nashville, Tennessee, May 23-26.
