SUBJECT: Board and Commission Term
Expiration Dates
Currently all Board and Commission terms are set to expire on
December 31. Recently the Council adopted four ordinance
amendments requiring terms to expire on the last day of February.
The commissions affected by these ordinance amendments are as
follows:

. Ice Arena Commission
. Park and Recreation Commission
. Planning Commission
. Utilities Commission
The expiration date will need to be changed on several documents
and computer programs. Staff will also need to send notification to
all commission members letting them know that their terms of office
have been extended by two months.
Although the terms have been changed by ordinance, Staff is
requesting a council motion to change all existing term expirations
from December 31 to the last day of February.
The HRA, EDA, and Library Board members have not been affected
by these ordinance amendments. Staff is proposing that the HRA
and EDA term expirations not be changed as these are mayoral
appointments. Staff will be proposing an ordinance amendment in
the future to change the Library Board expiration dates to be
consistent with that of other boards and commissions (the last day of
February).

the Planning, Park and Recreation, Utilities, and Ice Arena
