PRSR 02 08 2017 hCi of 11 Request for Action River To Item Number Parks and Recreation Commission 11.2 Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by Work Session February 8,2017 Michael Hecker,Parks and Recreation Director Item Description Reviewed by Parks and Recreation Commission By-laws Cal Portner, City Administrator Reviewed by Action Requested Review of By-Laws for the Parks and Recreation Commission Background/Discussion A first draft of the Commission By-Laws was reviewed at the January Commission work session. Commissioners were requested to review them and send any changes to staff before the February meeting. A new draft with all of the changes will be handed out at the February meeting. By-laws outline the purpose and function of each Commission. The most recent By-laws for the Parks and Recreation Commission were last approved in February 1999. Staff has reviewed those By-laws and found them to be outdated, so a new set of By-laws that accurately reflect current city ordinances have been developed. Once the By-Laws have been reviewed by the Commission, they may become adopted at a regular Parks and Recreation Commission regular meeting. City guidelines recommend that By-laws be reviewed every three years. Financial Impact None Attachments ■ N/A POWERED 81 NATUR
