Staff Update
DISCUSSION:
• Installed the FleetCarma data loggers in utility vehicles to gather information for the
feasibility study as part of the American Public Power(APPA) Grant. Provided 12 data
loggers to the City Fleet for them to install. Working with FleetCarma to gain access to
the information for utility and city staff.
• Attended the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA) Legislative
Conference in St. Paul, MN, and met with Representative Zerwas, and Senator
Kiffmeyer. We also had brief discussions with the Division of Energy Resources
regarding options for pre-paid metering, conservation programs, and conservation
reporting requirements.
• Worked with City Staff to identify tasks for the Energy City Commission, and also
assisted in planning sessions for Climate Smart Municipals for the summer session and a
possible intern for 2017.
• Attended Elk River Chamber of Commerce event where they recognized 1St National
Bank of Elk River(Business of the Year), Serrano Brothers (New Business of the Year),
and Sportech (Employer of the Year).
