Action Requested
1. Appoint Andy Soltvedt to the Parks and Recreation Commission for a term beginning March 1,
2017, and expiring February 28, 2020.
2. Appoint Guenther Sagan as the Parks and Recreation Commission representative to the Arena
Commission for a term beginning immediately and expiring February 28, 2020.
Background/Discussion
The Council interviewed Mike Niziolek,Andy Soltvedt, and Eric Toth on February 6 for two positions
on the Parks and Recreation Commission. Mike Niziolek and Eric Toth were appointed to the
commission; however,Mr. Toth recently notified staff he is unable to serve due to prior commitments.
Mr. Soltvedt is a strong candidate and is still interested in being appointed.
There is a vacancy on the Arena Commission for a Parks and Recreation Commission representative. The
Parks and Recreation Commission recommended Guenther Sagan to serve as their representative on the
Arena Commission.
