SUBJECT: Liquor Store 'Manager Update
The deadline for applications for the liquor store manager position is 4:30 p.m.,
Friday, February 19, 1999. Accordingly I will present the council with a
verbal update on the status of the applications at the February 22, 1999, City
Council meeting.

At this time the city has sent out approximately 60 applications for the
position and about 35 have been returned. Lori Johnson and I plan on
screening the applications for the most qualified and experienced candidates.
We hope to narrow the list down to 6 or less for interviews and have
Councilmembers Farber and Dietz participate in the interviews. The
applications are on file at City Hall, but are not public information.
Nonetheless, any councilmember wishing to review the pool of candidates is
welcome to do so in the City Council office.
At this time we hope to arrange interviews some time in early March. I need
to hear from John and Larry on some available dates and times for interviews.
