Background/Discussion Per the Advisory Board and Commission Policy, the Mayor shall make appointments to the Library Board with approval of the Council. Ms. Dreissig will fill the position vacated by Britt Aamodt. Economic Development Authority The EDA is composed of four Councilmembers and three citizens. The length of term for the Councilmembers coincides with the term of office for Council. The length of term for the citizen - members is six years. Housing and Redevelopment Authority The HRA consists of five Commissioners composed of one City Councilmember and four citizens at large. The term of office is five years. 1 Library Board The Library Board consists of five members. The term of office is three years. The library is a valuable resource in our community. As a library patron, a former employee, a current volunteer, and a long time member of the community, I think I can contribute and am interested in its workings and functions. Education/Professional Experience: Describe your educational and professional experience or skills that qualify you to serve on this board/commission. I was employed by ISD 728 for 33 years, most of them as a library/specialist at the junior high level. This was followed by 8 years as a library aide at the Elk River Public Library. Relevant Personal/Professional Experience: Please describe your professional, civic, or community participation, which may be relevant in serving on this board/commission. During my years with the school district, I served on professional development committees, building and district level; the building advisory committee; and the teacher relicensure committee. Since retirement, I have been involved in volunteer work through RSVP, at the library and at the courthouse.
