Background/Discussion Through the Climate Smart Municipalities Program, the city has an opportunity to host an engineering intern from Germany this summer. Jonas Scholz, an Environmental Engineering student, expressed an interest in studying abroad through the Climate Smart Municipalities Program. By U.S. Department of State rules, the intern is required to show basic fiscal responsibility before an internship is granted and a Visa processed. There was a 6-week period between the resignation of the Environmental Technician and the start of the Environmental Coordinator, providing adequate funds to cover his stipend along with contributions from the University of Minnesota.
