SUBJECT: Authorization to Advertise Park Maintenance I Position
Background
A Street/Park Maintenance I position for the Parks and Recreation Department was
included in the 2005 budget. As a cost savings measure the start date was postponed until
the second quarter of 2005. It is anticipated that this position will have starting wage at pay
grade 8, level B ($16.10 per hour).
Human resources staff is currently reviewing the position description for the street/park
maintenance positions. Due to the creation of the Parks and Recreation Department, a new
position description for park maintenance workers will be created. A copy of this description
will be provided to Council upon its completion.

Authorize staff to advertise the position of Street/Park Maintenance 1.
