Background/Discussion
Parks staff is planning to conduct controlled burns along Orono Parkway, Oak Savanna Park, the rain
garden and prairie areas on the library grounds. These prescribed fires will help to rejuvenate the native
prairie plantings and help control non-native species. The prescribed fires will likely be conducted
sometime in April, however the exact date will not be known until the morning of the prescribed fire as it
will be very dependent on proper wind direction and speed.

• Parking lot curb/gutters (will do in 2017 when Orono Pkwy repaved)
• LED light/bollard replacement (will do in 2016)
• Remove tree stumps in Zone 3 (will do in spring 2017)
• Pressure wash exterior of building (will do in spring 2017)
