Reject,by resolution, all bids received for the Wayfinding Signage project and direct the amendment of
the plans for re-advertisement.
Background/Discussion
On March 20, 2017, six bids were received for the Wayfinding Signage project. Based on the calls
received and the deviation of bid amounts, we are asking the City Council to reject all bids and further
provide direction for modification of the plans to add clarity for prospective bidders.
The signage concepts and appearance will not be changed but the documents will be modified to provide
clarity on what components are to be included in the bid price.
Financial Impact
There is no cost associated with the requested action. When new bids are received we will prepare a full
Est of anticipated project costs.

A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River to Reject all Bids
Submitted for the Wayfinding Signage Project
WHEREAS, Six (6) bids were received, opened, and publicly read on Monday March, 20,
2017; and
WHEREAS, Staff has reviewed the bids which ranged from incomplete to $679,569.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk
River,Minnesota, as follows:
1. The bids received on March 20, 2017, are hereby rejected.
2. Previous plans shall be modified to add clarity for prospective bidders.
3. The city clerk shall prepare and obtain publication of an advertisement for bids for
the making of improvements pursuant to the revised plans and specifications. The
amended plans shall be advertised for a minimum of 10-days, shall specify the work
to be done, and shall state the bids will be received by 2:00 pm on May 9, 2017, at
which time they will be publicly opened and read.
