VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
November 29, 1890
Council met at Recorder’s Office at 7:00 p.m.
Present: D.R. Houlton, Wm. Cory, K.H. Burrell, E.E. Bryant
Motion made that the rate of village taxation for the year 1891 be two mills of each dollar of
valuation. Ayes: Haulton, Cory, Burrell, Bryant; Nays: none.
The following bills were presented and on motion allowed:
Al Tourtillatt – work on streets with team $ 6.00
T.J.Latta – putting up guide board, work
On streets, etc. $12.75
S.A. McNeal – labor, etc as overseer of highways $33.50
The following statement of L.O. Hare of ferry business for 1890 was presented showing the
Village indebted to Mr. Hare in the sum of $111.55:
(br) by 24 days labor @ $2.00 $428.00
