VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
January 24, 1891
Council met at Recorder’s Office at 9:00 p.m.
Organization of the new Council was \[perfected\] by the qualification of the following members-elect
who were present and took the oath of office:
President: Chas. S. Wheaton
Trustees: D.R. Houlton, N.K. Whittman and D.H. Shaw
Recorder: E.E. Bryant
The application of J.P. Taylor for a license to sell various, small and fermented liquors in the said
village was presented and on motion, allowed by the following vote:
Ayes: Wheaton, Houlton, Whittman, Shaw
Nays: None
The bonds of L. O. Hare, Justice of the Peace-elect and EE. Bryant, Recorder-elect were presented
and on motion approved.
On motion, it was voted that the regular meetings of the Council be held on the first Monday of
each month at 8:00 p.m.
On motion, adjourned
