VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
December 30, 1893
Council met in regular session at 7:30 p.m.
Present: D.R. Houlton, S.S. Trask President; and E.E. Bryant
The report of the Village Treasurer for the year 1893 was presented and bring forward correct was
in motion accepted, approved and ordered filed with the Recorder for record
The report of the Board of Auditors prepared by the Records was presented. Showing the
disbursements of the village from the 1st day of January 1894, and the assets and liabilities of said
village in said last named date. On motion the same was accepted, approved and ordered filed with
the Recorder for record.
The council proceeded to compare all orders drawn during the year and all bring forward correct the
same were cancelled.
The following bills were in motion allowed:
H.H. Wheaton, Nails, $6.yr
D.R. Houlton, cash paid for street work $28.50
E.E. Bryant Record’s salary 1893 blanks $38.28
Wm. Shony, Labor and material in bridges $4.08
The report of D.R. Houlton, as Committee in streets was presented, and in motion accepted,
approved and ordered filed with the Recorder for record ordered filed with the Recorder for record.
On motion adjourned

The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
The application of J.P. Taylor for a liquor license was presented and on motion accepted.
On motion the bond of J.P. Taylor for liquor license was accepted, approved, and ordered filed with
the Recorder for record.
On motion the following Board of Health was appointed: W.B. Eaton – Health Officer, three years;
Geo. C. Hill, two years; W.F. Chadbourne, one year.
The bonds of Jas. U. Hare as Justice of the Peace, and E.E. Bryant as Village Recorder were
accepted, approved and ordered filed with the Recorder for record.

The following bills were presented and on motion allowed:
A.N. Dare, printing $ 2.90
W.F. Chadbourne, Judge at Charter Election $ 2.00
E.E. Chase, Judge at Charter Election $ 2.00
