Subject:AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE POLICE
SECRETARY /RECEPTIONIST
This is to inform the city council that w-e have completed the selection
process for the Secretary/R.eceptionist position. Renee Morris, an Elk
River resident, w-as the first choice in our selection procedure and has
agreed to w-ork for the City of Elk River. Renee has eleven and one
half (11 'i2) years combined experience w-ith the Bloomington Human
Resources and Police Departments. She has currently also w-orked
eight (8) months with the Sherburne County Sheriff's Department.
Renee is w-iIling to begin employment on Monday, April 26, 1999. I,
therefore, recommend hiring Renee Morris as secretary/receptionist. I
propose her starting pay to be at the Grade 5 level, Step E ($10.51 per
hour); and, going to Step F ($10.98) on July 1, 1999.

Renee w-iIl be replacing Marjorie Haggerty. If you have any
