VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
January 27, 1894
Council met at 7:30 p.m.
Present: D.R. Houlton, President; Andrew Davis; J.F. Lewis; E.E. Bryant, Recorder.
Each member had taken the oath according to law.
The minutes of the meetings of Dec. 30, 1893, and of the Chapter Election January 9, 1894, were
read and approved.
The followings bills were in motion allowed:
E.H. Davis, judge at Chapter Election, $2.00
Perry Clute, work on bridge, $3.00
On motion W.F. Chadbourne was elected to succeed himself as a member of the Board of Health.
On motion John Hayward was appointed Poundmaster for the ensuing year.
On motion the Recorder was instructed to prepare a statement showing the amount of receipts and
disbursements of the village for the year 1893, with balance on hand at the close of the year, and
have the source published one time in the Sherburne County Star News.
The President appointed the following committees:
Bridges and Streets: Hildreth and Lewis
Sidewalks: Davis and Bryant
General Improvements, such as Town Roads, Ferry, Street Lamps, etc.: Davis, Lewis, Hildreth
On motion it was voted to hold the regular meetings of the Council at the Sheriff’s Office at
courthouse in the last Monday morning of each month.
On motion adjourned.
