VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
May 15, 1895
Common Council met in Session at Chas. S. Wheaton’s office.
Present: Chas S. Wheaton, President; J.F. Lewis; Andrew Davis.
The following bill of Fred Stimson, $126.95, was presented, for cash paid for men and teams, and
for himself and teams, and on motion was allowed, and an order drawn on the treasurer for the
amount.
A bill of A.N. Dare of $6.30 for printing was presented and on motion was allowed.
The following resolutions were adopted:
Resolved that the sum of $25.00 be appropriated in payment of the share of the Village of Elk River
for maintaining a free ferry across Mississippi River at Elk River (known as lower ferry) for month
ending May 22, 1895, payable to J.G. Gray.
Resolved that the sum of $25.00 be appropriated in payment of the share of the Village of Elk River
for maintaining a free ferry (known as upper ferry) across Mississippi River for the month ending
May 26, 1895, payable to Martin E. Spencer.
