VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
March 12, 1898
Village Council met at courthouse \[at\] 8:30.
Present: H.C. Hastings, Pres.; F.P. Brown; C.T. Nickerson; C.M. Babcock, Rec.
On motion Recorder was instructed to notify R.R. Co. not to run trains through village faster than 4
miles per hour.
On motion C.W. Hayden was appointed \[marshal\]* at $40.00 per month and this dating from March
10, 1898, and Recorder was instructed to draw order each month.
