VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
May 19, 1898
Village Council met at courthouse at 8 o’clock.
Present: H.C. Hastings, President; F.P. Brown and H.D. Mills, Trustees; Chas. M. Babcock,
Recorder.
Council met for the purpose of receiving and opening bids for grading on Main Street.
The following bids were presented and on motion allowed:
Elk River Lumber Co., bill of lumber, etc., $19.63
C.W. Hayden, work for Village on jail, etc., $4.00
A.N. Dare, printing ordinances No. 41 and 42, notice to contractors and 300 statements, $10.50
On motion all bids for grading were rejected and Recorder was instructed to readvertise for same, to

be opened May 28 at 8 o’clock.
No further business, adjourned.
