VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
May 28, 1898
Village Council met at courthouse at 8 o’clock to open bids for grading on Main Street.
Present: H.C. Hastings, President; F.P. Brown, C.T. Nickerson and H.D. Mills, Trustees;
Chas. M. Babcock, Recorder.
The following bids were presented:
Felch Bus., $648.00
John McPhearson, $480.00
Iliff and Gray, $450.00
Henry Murphy, $400.00
W.N. Higgins, $299.50
On motion the bid of W.N. Higgins of $299.50 was accepted and Recorder was instructed to notify
Mr. Higgins of the acceptance of his bid and to procure a reasonable bond to do the work in a
reasonable time.
The following bills were presented and on motion allowed:
Chas. Blockern, special watchman, $1.00
W.L. Babcock & Sons, supplies for ferry, oil, etc., $22.54
No further business, adjourned.
