VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
June 27, 1898
Village Council met at courthouse at 8:30.
Present: H.C. Hastings, Pres.; H.D. Mills, Frank Brown, Trustees: C. M. Babcock, Rec.
On motion the Recorder was instructed to insert a notice in the Star News to the effect that the
following rates for crossing will be charged at the Lower Ferry (known as the Hare Ferry) to take
effect on and after July 1, 1898:
Crossing teams and foot passengers, $.05 for single crossing or 2-1/2 cents when tickets are used.
Tickets will be sold in the following denominations:
10 crossings for $.25
20 crossings for $.50
Tickets will be on sale at the Big Stores.
