DISCUSSION:
• In April, The Locating department had a total of 515 locate tickets consisting of seven
emergency tickets, 15 cancellations, 27 meetings, 421 normal tickets and 32 updated
tickets.
• Electric Technicians continue with the meter reading, power bill, substation checks,
hanging red-tags, meter read-outs, dealing with meter and off-peak issues, as well as
delivering and installing new meters to commercial customers. They continue to change
out the three phase meters with meters that will be read by radio ERT. Working on meter
changes outs for Area 2 and meter audits from areas already acquired.
• The new Field Collection System software has been operational with very positive
feedback from the metering staff
• The power plant staff did the monthly engine run in April. All engines with the exception
of engine 4 ran well. We have received an estimate from Utilities Plus Energy Services
for the repair of engine 4 which was determined to have a faulty controller.
• Mapping department continues to enter GPS points and attribute points for all of our
systems assets within the ESRI ArcView GIS system. Five intersections of MnDOT
signal lights have been added to the map to aid with the locating of these facilities.
Upgraded water mapping software to sync with InfraMap and created hydrant leak
detection route map for Water department.
• MV90 software and hardware is up and running and the metering technicians are
becoming proficient with the software. Additional training may be needed for staff to
become proficient with software and make use of all the features available.
