Babcock, Vil. Recorder VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING January 3, 1899 Common Council met at courthouse Tuesday, January 3, 1899, at 8 o’clock. Present: H.C. Hastings, Pres.; C.T. Nickerson and H.D. Mills; Chas. M. Babcock, Village Recorder. The object for this meeting being to close the business for the year. The Council proceeded to compare orders paid by Treasurer with sheets and cancel same. The report of the Treasurer was presented in due form showing receipts and disbursements from the year. The report of Board of Auditors prepared by Rec. was presented and compared with Treas. report and found correct with the exception of 2 cents, and on motion Rec. and Treas. reports were ordered filed. The following bills were presented and on motion allowed: Chas. M. Babcock; salary blanks, etc.; $35.35 Bill of W.H. Houlton, etc., for lumber amounting to $33.69 was laid over to next meeting.
