VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
March 23, 1900
A special meeting of the Village Council held for the purpose of considering an offer for the ferry.
Present: H.C. Hastings, President; Henry Castle, J.S. Guerney, J.H. Romdeune; R.E. Dare,
Village Recorder.
On motion the following resolution was adopted:
Whereas George Guimont has made a proposition to buy the ferry at Elk River, Minn., and pay
therefore the sum of $150.00 in installments;
Resolved that the committee on ferry be authorized to accept said proposition on such terms of
payment as to them shall seem best, and to execute, sign and deliver such conveyance as may be
necessary, but to see that the interests of the Village are in every way safeguarded.
Mr. Guerney was appointed to see Mr. Webb of the Boom Co. and make arrangements for a pier or
sh boom above the ferry.
Nothing further appearing, we adjourned till next regular \[meeting\].
