Action Requested
Approve, by motion, the selected wayfinding bid for the wayfinding signage program.
Background/Discussion
Council requested staff return for bids on the Wayfinding Master Plan Signage Program after rejecting all
bids from the first bid process.
The bid package required companies to bid on the sign drawings as created with the fabricated stone
provided by Visual Communications. Companies also had the opportunity to bid on an Alternate Bid of
using all natural field stone on the bid document which changed the dimensions of the drawings and
requirements of the stone that would be used for the signage. This alternate bid is the stonework that
council requested. Not all bidders chose to bid on the natural stonework.
Based on the bids received staff would recommend Council decide on which type of stonework they
would prefer and go with the following bidders:
Bid including 3 Stone Tier Option for Gateway Sign
Natural Stonework – staff recommends Nordquist Sign Company with a total bid of $648,707
Fabricated Stonework – staff recommends Graphic House, Inc. with a total bid of $568,790.08
Bid including 1 Stone Tier Option for Gateway Sign
Natural Stonework – staff recommends Nordquist Sign Company with a total bid of $637,883
Fabricated Stonework – staff recommends Graphic House, Inc. with a total bid of $558,896.92
Financial Impact
Council consensus was to use GRE funds for some of the signage.
