VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
January 25, 1902
Meeting called to order at 8 P.M. in Village Recorder’s office in Houlton’s red brick front.
Present: C.J. Scoboria, Pres.; Perry Clute, J.E. McBride and A.A. Opitz, Trustees; H.B.
Nickerson, Village Recorder.
Andrew Davis is unanimously requested to continue to act as Village Treasurer.
Bond of H.B. Nickerson as Village Recorder is accepted.
Bill of A.N. Dare for printing liquor license application of W.C. Blanchette and for printing
Ordinance No. 47 allowed in full, $10.05.
Bill of Standard Oil Co. for gasoline allowed, $6.57.
On motion of H.B. Nickerson, license fee was fixed at fifteen hundred dollars ($1500) for ensuing
year. Was carried with Clute dissenting.
On motion application of M.C. Blanchett to sell intoxicating liquors was accepted and allowed, and
his bond with A.H. Nickerson and C.F. Stein as sureties was accepted.
No further business, adjourned.
