VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
April 11, 1903
Meeting called to order in Recorder’s office at 8:00 P.M.
Present: C.Q. Scoborio, Pres.; Perry Clute, J.E. McBride and A.A. Opitz, Trustees; H.B.
Nickerson, Village Recorder.
The following bills \[were\] allowed:
W.B. Eaton, lamp lighting \[and\] repairs, $18.00
A.A. Opitz, freight and draying, $.81
On motion it was decided to appropriate two hundred dollars toward building a road from N.P.
Tank to Princeton Street, coming out on Waterman’s South Line and providing that property
owners deed to village a right of way.
On motion W.H. Houlton, C.S. Wheaton and N.K. Whittemore were appointed as delegates to go

before the State Railroad Commission on the 16 inst. to remonstrate against raising freight rates
between here and Duluth.
