VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
July 25, 1903
Meeting of Council in Recorder’s office. Called to order at 8:30.
Present: C.Q. Scoborio, Pres.; Perry Clute, J.E. McBride and A.A. Opitz, Trustees; H.B.
Nickerson, Village Recorder.
The following bills \[were\] presented and allowed:
L. Pollard, road work, $705.25
Standard Oil Co., gaso., $8.16
A.A. Opitz, gaso. tank, freight and drayage bbls., $5.56
Herbert Merrifield, moving planks, $3.00
F. Wallace to Fred Mills & Co., sidewalk repairs, $18.00
James Clute, $4.50
Whereas some question has been raised in case a bridge is built across the Mississippi River between
the village of Elk River and the town of Otsego as to who should keep the same in repairs;
Therefore be it resolved by the Common Council of the village that the said Common Council is
willing to enter into a mutual contract with either Wright County of the town of Otsego whereby
said Elk River shall maintain and keep up two-thirds of the repairs of said bridge and said Wright
County or said town of Otsego to maintain one-third of the repairs needed thereon.
The above resolution was on motion adopted.
