VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING Minutes of Village Election January 12, 1904 At the annual election of the village of Elk River in the County of Sherburne, State of Minn., held in Recorder’s office as appointed by common council, after giving due notice thereof provided by law, rd on the 23 day of Dec. 1903. N.D. Trumbull and E.W. Johnson, two qualified voters of said village who had within 20 days of said election been appointed as judges of said election, and being present with Recorder as clerk of election, at the hour of one o’clock P.M. each of them took an oath to faithfully perform the duties required of them at such election, and being qualified forthwith proceeded to open the polls by proclamation. And the election proceeded by ballot without interruption until closed. The subjects voted on at said election were to elect: one President, three Trustees, one Recorder, one Treasurer, one Justice of the Peace, and one Constable. At four o’clock on said afternoon, the polls were closed, proclamation of such closing having been given ten minutes before. The Judges then proceeded to publicly count and canvass the votes cast, and the following result was publicly proclaimed by one of the Judges. Statement of Result of Canvass The following is a true statement of the result of the counting and canvass by ballot at the said annual village election of the village of Elk River in the County of Sherburne and the State of th Minnesota held Jan. 12, 1904. A.H. Nickerson rec’d 93 votes for President and was declared elected. J. DeBooy rec’d 93 votes for Trustee and was declared elected. J.H. Romdeune rec’d 93 votes for Trustee and was declared elected. Harry Nickerson rec’d 68 votes for Trustee. James McBride rec’d 19 votes for Trustee. Nickerson was declared elected. W.F. Chadbourne rec’d 48 votes for Recorder. W.P. Rhoda rec’d 19 votes for Recorder. Chadbourne was declared elected. A. Davis rec’d 93 votes for Treasurer and was declared elected. E.H. Davis rec’d 93 votes for Justice of the Peace and was declared elected. Geo. S. Worder rec’d 6 votes for Constable. Frank Davis rec’d 7 votes for Constable. Davis was declared elected. N.D.
