VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
Minutes of Special Village Election
July 12, 1904
Minutes of Special Village Election held at Grand Army Hall on Tuesday, July 12, 1904, for the
purpose of voting on the question of bonding the Village in the sum of $7500 for the purpose of
building a bridge across the Mississippi River.
Present: L.G. Davis and N.D. Trumbull, Judges, and W.F. Chadbourne, Village Recorder.
Judges and clerks being duly sworn, polls opened at 10 o’clock A.M. and continued open until 4
o’clock P.M., proclamation of closing having been duly made by Judges, who proceeded to publicly
canvass votes contained in ballot box, with the following result:
Eighty-eight (88) ballots were cast in favor of bonds;
None against.
The vote was declared duly \[illegible\] to issue bonds, the following being a copy of vote used for
such purpose.

River, Minnesota, July 12, 1904.
“Shall the village of Elk River aid in the
construction of a bridge across the Mississippi
river at said village, a lawful public improve-
ment therein, and within two miles of the lim-
its thereof, and for such purpose issue and ne-
gotiate its bonds in said amount of Seven
Thousand, Five Hundred ($7,500) Dollars?”

NO. none
Every person desiring to vote in favor of the
foregoing proposition shall make his cross
mark (X) thus, opposite the word “Yes,” and
every person desiring to vote against such
proposition shall make such mark opposite the
word “No.”
