VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
February 10, 1905
At a special meeting of the Common Council of the Village of Elk River held at the Romdeune
Drug Store in said Village, the following were present, viz.:
Present: A.H. Nickerson, Pres.; Justus deBooy and H.B. Nickerson, Trustees; H.C. Hastings,
Village Recorder.
The following resolution was duly passed and adopted:
Whereas by a resolution duly passed and adopted by the Common Council of the Village of Elk

River on the 21 day of June 1904 and approved by the Electors of said Village at an Election duly

called and held according to law on the 12 day of July 1904 which reads as follows: Shall the Village
of Elk River aid in the construction of a bridge across the Mississippi River at said Village, a lawful
public improvement therein and within two miles of the limit thereof, and for such purpose issue
and negotiate its bonds in the said amount of ($7500) seven thousand five hundred dollars;
Therefore be it resolved that the Recorder of said Village advertise the sale of the bonds of said
village in the sum of seven thousand five hundred dollars to the highest bidder, said bonds not \[sic\]
to be sold for not less than their par value and accrued interest and to run for the period of ten (10)

years from July 1, 1905, said bonds to be due and payable on the first day of July 1915 and to be in
the following denominations: seven (7) bonds for the sum of ($1000) one thousand dollars each, and
one (1) bond in the sum of five hundred dollars. That the notice of the sales of said bonds shall be
by publication for three consecutive weeks in the Elk River Star News and the Clear Lake Times, two
weekly newspapers published in said County, and for the same length of time in the Pioneer Press, a
daily newspaper printed at the Capitol of the State. All of said newspapers being legal newspapers.
On motion it was voted to adjourn to meet at the call of the President.
