09-14-1905 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING September 14, 1905 At a special meeting of the Council held at Romdeune’s Drug Store, the following were present: Present: A.H. Nickerson, Pres.; Justus deBooy, H.B. Nickerson and J.H. Romdeune, Trustees; H.C. Hastings, Village Recorder. On motion it was voted to adopt the following ordinance: Ordinance No. 51 An ordinance granting to the Elk River Milling Co. its successors or assigns, certain right of way privileges for a spur track, upon the conditions hereby provided. Be it enacted by the Common Council of the Village of Elk River, Minnesota. Section II That in consideration that the Elk River Milling Company, its successors or assigns shall erect a flouring mill upon or near the site of the former mill located on block one of auditors addition to the Village of Elk River, and shall cause a spur track to be laid across and along Main Street and Bridge Street or Depot Street to said auditors additions: The Village of Elk River does hereby give and grant right said Elk River Milling Company, its successors or assigns the right to lay and maintain such spur track along, across and over the streets hereinbefore mentioned, said right to continue so long as said second party, its successors or assigns shall use and maintain said spur tracks. Dated at Elk River, Minn., Sept. 14, 1905, Adopted by the Common Council Sept. 14, 1905. President, Village Council Attest.: Henry C. Hastings, Recorder Mr. Frank T. White was present and asked the Council to have the walk or path on the north side of Main Street from Park Street to the schoolhouse.* On motion it was voted to have the sum not to exceed $25 laid out under the direction of Mr. deBooy, Trustee, in repg. the present walk or path as requested by Mr. White. The bill of Dr. Jordan was taken up and after an explanation from him and upon motion it was voted that it be allowed at the sum of $15.00. On motion the following bills were allowed: John McBride, work on fire engine, $1.50 Geo. Youso, work on streets, $25.50 Geo. Youso, work on streets, etc., $12.50 O.W. Peterson, grate for sewer, $2.50 The Recorder was instructed to notify the N.P. and G.N. R.R. Companies that a flagman should be provided at the Princeton Street crossing in this village, as the safety of our citizens and the public demands it. On motion adjourned. H.C.
