03-07-1906 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING March 7, 1906 At a special meeting of the Village Council held at R.E. Dare’s furniture store, the following-named were present: Present: R.E. Dare, President; Justus de Booy and W.P. Rhoda, Trustees; H.C. Hastings, Village Recorder. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The official bond of Andrew Davis, Village Treasurer, \[was presented?\], and on motion it was voted to accept the same and it was approved by the President and filed by the Recorder. On motion the following bills were allowed: O.W. Peterson, blacksmithing and botts, $37.84 Walter S. Booth, & Son, blanks, $1.11 H.B. Nickerson, lumber, $107.55 N.D. Trumbull, repair sewer, $.75 Geo. W. Youso, rock for ice breaks, $45.75 Mark Latta, labor on ice breaks, $6.65 John Bither, labor on ice breaks, $11.02 R.D. Roath, labor on ice breaks, $16.27 Clark True, labor on ice breaks, $5.77 A.S. Colson, labor on ice breaks, $19.60 A communication was presented from C.A.P. Turner Engineers recommending the payment to W.F. Chadbourne on his bridge contract the balance his due, reserving the sum of $450, till the bridge is fully completed and accepted, whereupon the following resolution was passed by a vote of the Council: Resolved that in compliance with the estimate and recommendations of C.A.P. Turner Engineers of March 3, 1906, the sum of $3750 be allowed and paid to W.F. Chadbourne on the bridge contract at this time. Communication received from H.M. Bracken, Secy., State Board of Health, which was read, whereupon on motion Dr. G.E. Page was appointed Health Officer for the Village to fill the vacancy made by the removal of Dr. C.Q. Scoborio to another state. Communication received from the Tri State Telephone and Telegraph Co. was read by the President and on motion it was laid on the table. Adjourned. Attest.: H.C.
