Subject: GRRL TRUSTEE REPORT FOR JANUARY 2017
• Elected new officers, have some new members due to elections and new
appointments.
• 1 was re-appointed to CMLE(Central MN Libraries Exchange) Board - CMLE met this
afternoon (1-18-17) -we have a new director, new ideas & goals and they are
exciting and well on the way to accomplishment. GRRL Ex. Dir was elected Chair of
the Trustee Board.
• Library Legislative Day and "Minnesota Loves Libraries" Advocacy Campaign -
members going to Leg. Day on Feb. 22nd. Basically they are requesting more
funding. Has not been increased for several years. - Come if you can, contact Jami
Trenam at GRRL 1-320-650-2500 for appointments and update info.
• Summary of impact of arson fire to St Cloud/GRRL facility- some disruption and cost,
which will impact financials minimally, but primarily to patrons and disruption of
services to patrons. Branches picked up the slack.
• Sartell request for branch - moving forward. City responsible for facility costs, GRRL
for operations.
• Discussion regarding ER Star New article - relationship between GRRL& ER.
