VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
January 17, 1907
At a special meeting of the Village Council held at the furniture store of R.E. Dare, the following-
named members were present:
Present: R.E. Dare, President; S.M. Crockett and Justus de Booy, Trustees; H.C. Hastings,
Village Recorder.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
The Village Treasurer’s report for the current year was presented, read and compared with the Board
of Auditors’ report and found to be all right, and orders that have been paid were cancelled and the
Treasurer’s report accepted and filed.
On motion the following bills were allowed:
Davis Bros., groceries furnished \[to\] Gaftave family, $15.25
Davis Bros., groceries furnished \[to\] Hood family, $22.22
C.S. Wheaton, legal services, $10.00
Dr. G.E. Page, fumigating 2 families, $10.00
Best Light Co., fire burners for street lamps, $9.00
Standard Oil Co., gasoline, $3.30
Geo. Youso, drayage, $.75
Justus de Booy, paid for work on fire engine, $3.50
Pioneer Press Co., blanks for Justice of the Peace, $3.00
N.D. Trumbull, work on sidewalks (repg.), $2.00
Elk River Lumber Co., lumber, $8.42
W.B. Eaton, lighting and care \[of\] street lamps \[for\] month of Dec. 1906, $10.00
W.B. Eaton, services as dog killer during recent mad dog scare, $10.00
S.M. Crockett, wood as per bill, $1.00
H.C. Hastings, services as Recorder, $35.00

Communication from the Elk River Businessmen’s Association, date Dec. 3, 1906, was read and
the Recorder was instructed to communicate with the Town Board of Supervisors of Otsego in
regard to the matter mentioned.
