Subject: Support Services Supervisor
This is to inform the City Council that Michelle Masica, the
interim records management supervisor, has taken the position
profile questionnaire to determine the appropriate point ranking
for this position. The results of this questionnaire indicates
that the support services supervisor should have a point ranking
of 70.
Michelle and I have discussed the possibility of her staying on
as the support services supervisor and she has indicated an
interest in the position. She has been doing the job since
January 6, 1999, along with her crime prevention duties.
Michelle has done an excellent job in the records management
area. She was able to get the records area caught up.
The Personnel Committee has met in regards to this position and
supports the point ranking of 70.

I am, therefore, requesting authorization to promote Michelle
Masica to the position of Support Services Supervisor at pay
grade 11, step K, of the pay plan effective May 1, 1999. On July
1, 1999, Michelle would then move to step L (top step) of her pay
grade.
This is an important and key position that needs to be filled
prior to our new records management system being installed.
